What is sports media?

Those who study it define sport communication for the 21st century like this: "Sport communication is a process by which people—in sport, in a sport setting, or through a sport endeavor—share symbols as they create meaning through interaction" (Pedersen et al., 2009).

Sport communication describes a broad array of interactive endeavors. In this space we think of sports media as either creative multimedia storytelling about a sport setting or a sport endeavor or media that helps others gain an understanding of a sport setting or sport endeavor more completely.

In simpler words: We like to think of sports media as telling stories or providing information about sport using various types of media.

From photo, multimedia, broadcast, and social media, to research or sports information projects, this space will grow as student projects are built and curated.
